Description

There is peace in our time. Not like ever before. All nations of the world have decided to end their competition for resources. Their arms races. Their nuclear standoffs. They've all decided to join the United Nations' initiative. In 1991, they all helped to form a unified species. A unified planet. They helped form a United Earth.

Following the horrors of the first and second world wars, in the middle of the 1940s, the United Nations was established to prevent war altogether, with the goal of unifying planet Earth under a one world government. A majority of the founding countries were democracies, such as the United States of America, and the Republic of China, with some exceptions, like the United Kingdom. The United Nations pressured other countries to join the United Nations by sheer size; economic and military might. The one country that stuck out of the United Nations till the end was the USSR, or "Soviet Union", long until the Union was dissolved in 1991 by Mikhail Gorbachev and its member states all joined the United Nations, and as a result, United Earth was established.

The United Earth Charter is a lot of like the UN Charter, but with a mixture of the US Constitution, and a lot more clear socialistic ideas such as a mixed economy, both state-run and free media sources, accompanied by freedom of speech and assembly, and so on.

This version of Earth would face the greatest global conflict in history. Independence groups fighting for self governance and freedom would wage total war against this government. It would likely collapse too as most people would side with the freedom fighters
